The landscape of the city of Mino (houses surrounding by hills) comprised of 4 layers of paper. The white paper cut like a stencil assumes the original role of the brown paper which is used here as a background and as the brown color of the tree. This brown paper was once called “kakishibu” and was used for coloring the kimono.
